NILC Statement on House Passage of the Reconciliation Bill

WASHINGTON — Kica Matos, president of the National Immigration Law Center, issued the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives passed a sweeping domestic spending and policy bill early this morning:

“This bill presents a generational threat to the rule of law and will undermine the safety and wellbeing of communities across the country. It will deprive children and families of nutrition and health support, while directing billions to supercharge an already outlandish immigration enforcement agenda that flouts constitutional protections. Anyone who voted to advance this bill should be both shamed and ashamed.”
