Jessie Hahn is an attorney focusing on reducing the vulnerability of immigrant workers in low-paying jobs to labor exploitation on account of their immigration status. She conducts administrative and legislative advocacy to protect and expand the rights of immigrant workers, provides technical assistance and training, writes publications, and represents NILC in strategic partnerships.
Her areas of expertise include labor-based immigration relief, such as prosecutorial discretion and U/T visas; immigration-based retaliation, including reverification of employment eligibility and no-match letters; worksite immigration enforcement; and federal legislation, such as the POWER Act. She previously worked for the New York State Department of Labor and the New York City Department of Consumer and Worker Protection, enforcing labor standards protections primarily on behalf of undocumented workers.
She is a graduate of Reed College and Northeastern University School of Law, where she received a Public Interest Law Scholarship.
