NILC Welcomes Glenn Formica to Board of Directors

WASHINGTON — The National Immigration Law Center (NILC) today announced the addition of Glenn Formica, founder and principal at Formica, P.C., to the NILC board of directors.

“Glenn is a formidable force for justice, and I have had the privilege of calling him a colleague and friend for many years,” said Kica Matos, NILC president. “His courageous advocacy over more than two decades has impacted the lives of countless immigrant community members in Connecticut and across the country. We are grateful to have his expertise and vision as we continue our mission to defend and advance the rights of low-income immigrants and their loved ones.”

“Joining the board of the National Immigration Law Center is a tremendous honor for me,” said Glenn Formica. “This is a pivotal time for the movement and for our country. I look forward to working alongside fellow board members and staff to further advance our mission and advocate for a 21st century immigration system that centers dignity and humanity.”

Glenn Formica has practiced civil litigation and immigration law for more than 25 years. His journey in defending immigrants’ rights began with providing pro bono representation, including to refugees. Motivated by a passion for justice and human rights, he went on to establish his own law firm, where he continued to dedicate his practice to serving immigrants and fighting for their rights.

Among his notable achievements includes taking on church sanctuary cases, where his community-driven approach resulted in successful outcomes for immigrants seeking safety. His use of the community law clinic model, which engaged volunteers from diverse professional backgrounds, proved instrumental in advocating effectively for immigrants’ rights.

Formica received an undergraduate degree from Boston University and a J.D. from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
