NILC, Colorado Rapid Response Network, and Colorado Immigrants Rights Coalition Partner to Launch Know Your Rights Bus Shelter Ad Campaign in Aurora

AURORA, Colo. — The National Immigration Law Center (NILC), in partnership with the Colorado Rapid Response Network and the Colorado Immigrants Right Coalition, launched a Know Your Rights campaign to help inform all Coloradoans in Aurora about their constitutional rights, no matter their immigration status.

Ads in English and Spanish will run over the course of two months at bus shelters throughout the Aurora area, with an estimated reach of approximately 654,000 people per week. They will include a QR code that directs people to a website where they will find general and state-specific Know Your Rights resources also in English and Spanish.

“All Aurorans, regardless of immigration status, have constitutional rights and should have the knowledge to exercise them fully,” said Kica Matos, president of NILC. “We are proud to partner with the Colorado Rapid Response Network and Colorado Immigrants Rights Coalition to empower Aurora’s immigrant communities. This information can better prepare them should they confront the Trump administration’s heinous efforts to abduct and disappear our community members.”

“The Colorado Rapid Response Network is only as strong as the people who embody it. When the people who embody the network feel equipped with key information and courage to use it we are incredibly effective in protecting our communities. The strong network we have built is only growing and we’re more ready than we ever have been,” shared Jordan Garcia, Program Director at the American Friends Service Committee, co-founders of CORRN.

“In a moment of rising anti-immigrant rhetoric and threats of disappearing our families and neighbors, it’s more important than ever for our communities to know their rights,” said Raquel Lane-Arellano, Communications Manager at the Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition. “This campaign is about empowerment and safety—making sure our community has access to tools that can help them defend themselves and their families.”
