she/her/ella

Lisa Graybill leads NILC’s litigation and policy work. She joined NILC in 2020 after having served, most recently, as a deputy legal director at the Southern Poverty Law Center and, previously, as the legal director of the ACLU of Texas and a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division. Lisa also taught at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, focusing on civil rights and immigration issues. She is a graduate of Smith College and the University of Texas School of Law. Raised in San Antonio and based in Austin, Texas, Lisa speaks English and Spanish and curses vigorously in both languages.

She loves her friends and family in equal measure, shamelessly spoils her cats, and feels most at home in the borderlands.
