Kimberly Hurtarte

Director of Narrative and Culture

She/Her/Ella

Kimberly leads NILC’s narrative and culture strategy, building the frameworks, campaigns, and storytelling infrastructure behind the organization’s immigrant justice work. Her career spans over a decade across arts, philanthropy, and movement building, including cultural strategy work on behalf of Grammy-winning artists, grassroots organizations, and philanthropic institutions, across cause areas ranging from hunger and disaster relief to environmental conservation and the fight for equity and belonging.

The daughter of Mexican immigrants from Jalisco, Kimberly brings a lived connection to the communities NILC serves and a deep belief that the people most affected by injustice should shape the stories that define them.

As a former stunt double and synchronized swimmer, she’s no stranger to risks and enjoys viewing the world from different perspectives — even if it’s upside down
