Amrit Cheng

Amrit Cheng leads NILC’s digital communications strategy across email, social media, content production, and web, as well as managing the Digital team. She focuses on digital advocacy, content strategy, and audience engagement.

Prior to joining NILC, Amrit worked to advance immigrants’ rights, voting rights, and civil rights at the ACLU, the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and Fenton Communications. She holds a B.A. in Political Science and Creative Writing from Oberlin College. In 2020, she completed the New School’s Documentary Media Studies graduate program. Her documentary short about segregation in New York City public high schools premiered at DOC NYC and in Teen Vogue.
