As Special Counsel with NILC’s Democracy Defense Initiative, Imani litigates against attacks on immigrant communities that threaten democracy through the abuse of national security authorities and more.
Prior to joining NILC, Imani served as Counsel with the Office of Senator Elizabeth Warren, Stacey Abrams’ campaign for governor in Georgia, the Biden for President Campaign, and the Biden-Harris Transition Team. Imani has also worked for the International Refugee Assistance Project and the civil rights firm Loevy & Loevy, and has served as a law clerk at the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Imani holds a JD/MPP from Harvard Law School and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and a B.A. in International Relations from Stanford University.
