These maps illustrate generally which states provide health coverage to immigrant children, pregnant people, and undocumented people.

The first map highlights the states that have opted to provide federal Medicaid and/or CHIP to lawfully residing children without a waiting period, and/or to cover children regardless of their immigration status, with state funds.

The second map shows the states that have opted to provide federal Medicaid to lawfully residing pregnant people without a waiting period, and/or to provide prenatal care regardless of the pregnant person’s immigration status, either under the federal CHIP option or with state funds.
