Texas Decision and Other Executive Action Updates

Texas Decision and Other Executive Action Updates

Earlier this year, a federal court in Texas blocked the president’s DAPA (Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents) and DACA+ (expanded Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) initiatives from going forward.

On May 26, 2015, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals denied the federal government’s emergency request to “stay” the Texas court’s decision and thus allow the initiatives to proceed. This means that the DAPA and expanded DACA programs are still not available

The National Immigration Law Center hosted a webinar on May 27, 2015, to discuss The Texas Decision and Other Executive Action Updates.

Topics included:

What the decision means
Steps you can take to protect the president’s executive actions on immigration
Updates on other aspects of the president’s executive actions on immigration
