TPS for Hondurans and Nicaraguans extended 18 mos.
Immigrants' Rights Update,
Vol. 18, No. 7, November 8, 2004

The Dept. of Homeland Security recently announced that the temporary protected status (TPS) programs for people from Nicaragua and Honduras have been extended until July 5, 2006.  Under this extension, non–U.S. citizens who already have been granted TPS under these programs will be eligible to reregister for them and thus maintain their lawful status and eligibility to be employed in the U.S. for another 18 months.

The 60-day reregistration period for these programs began on Nov. 1.  More details will be available in the next issue of Immigrants’ Rights Update.
