USDA RELEASES FINAL FOOD STAMP REGULATIONS

New food stamp regulations published Nov. 21, 2000, by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture incorporate many of the comments that were submitted in response to the proposed rules issued on Feb. 29, 2000 (see "USDA Proposes Major Rules Governing Immigrant Eligibility for Food Stamps," Immigrants' Rights Update, Apr. 11, 2000, p. 13).  NILC will summarize the rule's immigrant-related provisions in the next issue of the Immigrants' Rights Update.  A copy of the final rule can be downloaded from the Government Printing Office's web site at www.access.gpo.gov.
